Series of traffic accidents claim lives in Albania

The  first week of the New Year has been treacherous along some roads in Albania. According to media reports Monday (January 5th), 21 auto accidents have killed two people and injured 28 others, eight critically. Authorities say the accidents were mainly alcohol-related.

Greek police help Albanian immigrants stuck in snow

Greek border police on Sunday (January 11th) rescued a group of Albanian immigrants stuck in the snow in an area near the border with Albania, media reported. The group reportedly consisted of 15 people, including women and children. Albanian police say the immigrants, currently in Greek custody, are in good health.
